Artworks by Dale Threlkeld, Michael Dunbar, Mark Pease and Albert Yowshien Kuo will be on exhibition from Thursday, Nov. 20 through Thursday, Dec. 18 at the William and Florence Schmidt Art Center, located at the Southwestern Illinois College Belleville Campus, 2500 Carlyle Ave.

The exhibition opens with a reception from 6-8 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 20. Both the reception and exhibition are free and open to the public.

Artists Dale Threlkeld and Michael Dunbar team for a show titled “Eye to Eye: Color and Form.” The exhibition features non-objective paintings of thickly applied color by Threlkeld and sculptures that combine mathematical relationships with mechanical precision created by Dunbar. Individuals may also wish to stop by Dunbar’s full-scale work – Astro Treillage, part of the college’s Belleville Campus outdoor sculpture collection – during their visit.

With paintings and prints in his exhibition “Artiface,” artist Mark Pease focuses on perception, vision and how individuals process visual material as they travel through their environments. He has served as a visiting artist at the Royal Academy of Art in London and shown both nationally and internationally. He currently teaches animation and digital art at Southern Illinois University Carbondale.

Artist Albert Yowshien Kuo combines the concepts of design with the spirit of figurative and abstract painting in his exhibition “Modern Lines.” He has had several exhibitions in, and around, St. Louis since completing his Master of Fine Arts degree in painting at Fontbonne University in 2014.
