Area news: light bulb thief charged with stalking former girlfriend

A Staunton man was recently arrested for stalking a Marine woman just two days after he admitted stealing light bulbs from her home.

Bryan S. Crawford, 34, was taken into custody by Marine Police on Oct. 4 at a grocery store in Edwardsville where Crawford worked, Marine Police Chief Chris Singleton said. Crawford was arrested for theft on Oct. 2 after admitting that he had been stealing light bulbs from outdoor light fixtures at his former girlfriend’s home.

Felony stalking charges were filed against Crawford on Oct. 7. A no contact order and order of protection were also filed against Crawford, police said.

Bond was set at $50,000 for Crawford.
