Rain delayed the Collinsville Middle School baseball team’s quest for a state championship by one week.
The Southern Illinois Junior High School Athletic Association State Championship game was originally scheduled for 3 p.m. Thursday, then rescheduled to 11 a.m. in an attempt to beat the rain. An overnight storm system washed out any hope of playing.
The championship game will now be played at 3 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 16 in Centralia.
