Collinsville Middle School softball season ends at State Tournament

The late season run that propelled the Collinsville Middle School softball team to the State Tournament ended with a 3-0 defeat to Millstadt on Monday.

The softball Trail Blazers entered Regional play one game under .500, but peaking, Head Coach Gary Wilson said. CMS defeated Fulton Middle School of O’Fallon and Wolf Branch of Belleville to advance to the Southern Illinois Junior High School Athletic Association State Tournament.

With a pitching staff dominated by 7th graders, Wilson expects the Trail Blazers to have another strong showing in the 2015-2016 season.

Millstadt advances to play Marion Wednesday.
