Police are searching for a 21-year-old Collinsville man accused of stabbing a man during an attempted robbery.

Tre Laron Barnscomb, of the 800 block of S. Morrison Avenue in Collinsville, allegedly stabbed a 22-year-old man following a dispute Wednesday in the 100 block of Idlerun Drive, Collinsville. Barnscomb, who knows the victim, fled before police arrived.

Collinsville Fire Department paramedics transported the victim to the hospital, where he was treated and stabilized. Barnscomb was charged with Class X felony home invasion, Class 1 felony attempted armed robbery and Class 3 felony aggravated battery.

Branscomb is not in custody and is considered armed and dangerous, police said. Anyone with information that could lead to the arrest of Branscomb is asked to contact Detective Warren at 618-344-2131 ext 5139.
