Collinsville, IL –Video gamers of all ages are invited to start their engines for a Mario Kart Wii tournament at the Collinsville Memorial Library Center on Aug. 21 at 5 p.m.

Mario and his friends are ready to race in Mario Kart Wii.  Players will experience new tracks, enhanced Wii graphics, extraordinary game play, and more.

All ages are welcome.  The tournament is divided into two age groups: ages 8-16 and 17+.  Controllers are provided, but players are welcome to bring their own if preferred.  Come ready to play and win prizes. Participants are encouraged to donate new or gently used Wii, PS3, and Xbox 360 games for the library’s new video game collection.

The tournament is free, but advance registration is required.  Please call the library at 618-344-1112 or visit the Main Desk to sign up.

In addition to the Mario Kart Wii tournament, the library district is holding a game drive throughout the month of August.  New or gently used Wii, PS3, and Xbox 360 games can be dropped off at both the Collinsville and Fairmont City library centers.  These donations will form the foundation of a new video game collection, to be unveiled in the fall.
