Booking a tee time at Arlington Greens golf course is now a 24-hour a day, 7-day per week possibility.

ArlingtonGreensLogo2The Collinsville Area Recreation District, which owns the course, recently implemented a new software service that, among other things, allows golfers to set a tee time with just few clicks of a mouse. The system shows what times are available, for how many golfers and the rate for the time slot. Reservations are then made directly online.

Course Manager Mark Marcuzzo said the online reservation system is more convenient for golfers and will draw more people to the website, where they can learn about events and specials at the course.

“From a marketing standpoint, it’s a great tool,” Marcuzzo said.

The systems does more than take online reservations. It also tracks inventory and generates reports that will help him better manage the course, Marcuzzo said.

The course has gone from losing nearly $500,000 in daily operations in the 2009 fiscal year to generating over $112,000 in revenue from daily operations in the fiscal year ending April 30, 2014. Marcuzzo said the new software will assist with planning help to make the course become more successful for CARD, which is facing financial difficulties.

Online reservations are certainly not new. Having the system in place should help Arlington Greens better compete with other area courses that have offered the service for years.

Residents can also reserve space in other CARD programs using the system, including Splash City swim lessons, park pavilions, camps and space at the CARD district office. The software is also being used to track many functions in the district and provide reports to assist managers.

Reservations for Arlington Greens as well as CARD programs and events can be made here or by visiting the CARD main page.
