Contestants are needed for the GSC Credit Union Princess Tomato and Sir Catsup Contest at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, July 13. The event is not based on a professional rulebook, organizers say, but is just for fun, like the Catsup Bottle Festival itself.

Princess Tomato and Sir Catsup will receive a crown, sash, trophy and other gifts from the event’s sponsors. Finalists will receive a medal and all contestants get a goody bag Brooks ketchup, originally produced under the World’s Largest Catsup Bottle.

Anyone between the ages of 3 and 6 on July 13 is eligible to enter. The person live in Collinsville, Canada or a Greenville of any state, there are no residency requirements.

The contest is for fun, but there is no room for Honey Boo and Mama June. Anyone parent or child not on his or her best behavior may be disqualified, organizers warn.

Participants should appear on the day of the pageant in summer clothes and keep the thoughts of ketchup, classic cars, summer fun, and the Catsup Bottle birthday party in mind. Each child will be interviewed and asked to perform on stage.

The contestants will need to state their name, age, answer a simple question or two, and recite a Catsup Bottle fun fact. There will also be a talent demonstration, such as singing, dancing, a magic trick, etc.

The deadline to enter the contest is Saturday, June 28. Everyone must be pre-registered. There will be NO registration the day of the event. There is a $20 entry fee.

The contest will be held at 10:30 a.m. on the Laura Buick GMC Big Tomato Main Stage during the World’s Largest Catsup Bottle Festival at the American Legion Post 365 in Collinsville, Illinois.
