MARK YOUR CALENDARS NOW, and come see this fascinating program coming to SIUE Sunday, June 8, at 2:00 p.m.

Every Spring, an archaeology team from University of Bologna (Italy) works with a university archaeology professor from Washington University (St. Louis) to uncover the secrets of the West Plaza of Cahokia Mounds.

Come join us for “AMERICA’S FIRST CITY:  Discovering the Secrets of Cahokia Mounds,”  Sunday, June 8, 2:00 p.m., by Professors Davide Domenici from Italy and John Kelly from Washington University, accompanied by six University of Bologna archaeology graduate students.  The program will be held at SIUE’s Engineering Building Auditorium (Room 1033).

Come early to meet the presenters and SEE ARTIFACTS found at Cahokia Mounds West Plaza by the Bologna/St. Louis team – pieces from the beginnings of urban society over 900 years ago!

Displays will also include ARTIFACTS from the Cahokia Mounds Interpretive Center and ARTIFACTS found by SIUE student archaeologists excavating in Edwardsville.

It’s a rare program – not to be missed!  No cost.  Free, convenient parking is available in SIUE’s Visitors Lot B.
