Road Work on Interstate 255 between Horseshoe Lake Road and I-270

The Illinois Department of Transportation announced today that several ramps on Interstate 255 will be closed temporarily in June.

At 7 p.m., June 1, all ramps at the Interstate 255 and Illinois 162 interchange will be closed until 7 p.m., June 2.

Starting at 7 p.m., June 2, the following ramps will be closed until 7 p.m., June 3: the ramp from eastbound Interstate 270 to southbound Interstate 255, the ramp from southbound Interstate 255 to eastbound Interstate 270 and the ramp from eastbound Interstate 270 to northbound Interstate 255.

At 7 p.m., June 3, the following ramps will be closed until 7 p.m., June 4: the ramp from southbound Interstate 255 to westbound Interstate 270, the ramp from westbound Interstate 270 to southbound Interstate 255 and southbound Interstate 255 collector/distributor Lane.

At 7 p.m., June 4, the eastbound Interstate 270 collector/distributor Lane will be closed until 7 p.m., June 5.

From 7 p.m., June 5, until 7 p.m., June 6, the ramp from northbound Interstate 255 to eastbound Interstate 270 will be closed.

The closures are necessary for IDOT to complete the resurfacing of the ramps. There will be signed detours at each closed ramp. The Department asks that motorists be patient, reduce speed, watch for stopped traffic ahead, and use additional caution when traveling near and throughout this work zone.
