The essays, which focused on the role of community banks in their service areas, were judged by students and faculty in the Communications Department at Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville.

“These students showed outstanding communication and analytical skills in their essays, and we are proud to honor them,” said Ron Shambaugh, President and Chief Executive Officer of Home Federal.     “They are automatically entered into the regional and state CBAI competition, which could lead to even more scholarship monies for up to four years.”

Home Federal is a member of the CBAI, which has been sponsoring the essay contest statewide to increase public awareness of locally owned banks and their contributions to the community.
