Alex Lamoreaux, the third-leading goal scorer for the 2013 Kahoks soccer team, has agreed to continue his career at Fontbonne University.

The two-year letter winner scored six goals and finished with 14 points for Collinsville, both marks good for third-best on the team. Lamoreaux was voted the soccer team’s Student Athlete of the year in 2013 and will attend Fontbonne on academic scholarships.

Lamoreaux chose Fontbonne because the Clayton campus is close to home and because he likes the coaches. Planning to major in business, the schools good business program was also a draw.

“I know that, when I graduate, I have a good chance of getting a job in the St. Louis area,” Lamoreaux said.

Lamoreaux’s parents, Jeff and Kelly, were proud of their son. Kelly said she is  happy Alex chose to continue his career close to home.

“I like that it’s nearby, so we can go watch,” Kelly said.
