The truck, which was rolled out in February, joins a pink van that has been going on service calls for the company since January, 2013. A portion of the proceeds from the service calls made by each pink vehicle is donated to the American Cancer Society.

The exact amount donated differs based on the type of service call, Marketing Manager Katie Gregowicz said. The company has donated more than $5,000 to-date.

Jeff Gamblin, owner of Tiger Plumbing, Heating and Air Conditioning Services, said the company wanted to do something to help the community.

“Everyone knows somebody that has been affected by cancer,” said Gamblin. “This is our way of making a difference in our community.”

Relay For Life Specialist Amanda Kernan said the money donated when the vehicles go on service calls is creating a world with more birthdays.

“Because of Tiger’s commitment to finish the fight against cancer, the American Cancer Society is able to ensure patients have transportation to and from treatment, provide free lodging for both patients and caregivers, fund life changing cancer research, and so much more,” Kernan said.

The company also shows support by taking the vehicles to cancer awareness events, Gamblin said. At least one of the pink, tiger-striped vehicles will be at Frieze Harley-Davidson, in O’Fallon, Il., on May 18, for the 19th annual Cancer Benefit Ride.

To request a pink vehicle for a service call, contact Tiger Plumbing, Heating and Air Conditioning Services at 344-5885 or visit TrustTiger.com. If a pink vehicle is not available, the customer will have the option to wait or choose quicker service, but money is only donated if a pink vehicle makes the service call, Gregowicz said.

“One of the vehicles is typically available right away,” Gregowicz said.
