Haley Loehr was  nominated by Brenda Caselli, Kreitner Elementary School secretary, Kelli Davidson, classroom instructor at Collinsville High School and Karen Olsen, counselor at Collinsville High School.

The nomination for Loehr read, “Haley is currently in Co-op class and she juggles two part time jobs (Krietner and Kmart) with her schoolwork very well. She goes above and beyond to help people whenever she can. She just signed up to job shadow at Children’s Hospital in the neo-natal department in order to fulfill her dream of becoming a nurse. She obtained her CNA license during her junior year in vocational in the Clinical Health Occupations Class. I am grateful for her daily pleasant demeanor.

I just wanted to tell you that last week I had an emergency situation in my office with a staff member. Haley had just arrived a few minutes prior to that. I needed to call 911 and I asked Haley to call the nurse at CMS and tell her that I needed her to come to Kreitner. Haley was very cool and calm and even took the initiative to keep students from coming into the nurse’s office while we were dealing with this situation. She even directed the First Responders into the office. I am very proud of her for handling things so well.”

Derrick Miller was nominated by Ashley Federico, classroom instructor at Collinsville High School. Federico’s nomination read, “I have seen some very positive changes in Derrick. He has expanded his vocabulary and has had more self-control with appropriate words during times of frustration. He is now using other adjectives when he feels he needs to “highlight” his feelings.”
