Please join local author Lou ‘Andy’ Baczewski at the Collinsville Public Library on Sunday, February 23rd from 3-5pm as he shares his newly published book on his grandfather, a Collinsville war hero, Louis J. Baczewski. There will be a presentation followed by a book signing.

Louis was a very long time resident of Collinsville and was part of the Knights of Columbus and the Polish War Veterans. He was one of only 18 out of 152 men in his company to survive the war unscathed. He fought in every major land campaign in the European Theater of WWII. He landed on Omaha and fought all the way into the heart of Germany. He received a Bronze star and numerous other medals. He came back here and lived a very humble and noble life and was well known in the Collinsville community.
