Southwestern Illinois College men’s basketball Hall of Fame coach and cancer survivor Jay Harrington invites the community to join SWIC for a pair of basketball games and support a great cause at this annual cancer awareness event.
The Blue Storm encourages you to wear white for the women’s and men’s basketball squads in their doubleheader against Kaskaskia College and help raise money for the fight against cancer. The “white out” games will take place Wednesday, Feb. 26, with the women’s game starting at 5:30 p.m. and the men tipping off at 7:30 p.m.
“As a thyroid cancer survivor, I am encouraging all of our SWIC basketball fans to come out and support a great cause and cheer on our Blue Storm in these critical conference games,” said Harrington.
Fans are encouraged to make a donation to The V Foundation for Cancer Research at the ticket table. This organization was founded by college basketball coach Jim Valvano and ESPN in 1993.
Admission is $5 for adults; $2 for students; and free for SWIC students and employees with ID or military and
veterans with ID.
For more information, contact Vicki Channer at 618-235-2700, ext. 5271, or vicki.channer@swic.edu.
