Last year, the Collinsville Woman’s Club brought THE EMPTY BOWL fundraiser to Collinsville to wage war against local hunger. With your kind contributions and help from others, our community-wide campaign raised $6,700 for Collinsville’s CAMA Helping Hands Food Pantry. For that we’ll always be grateful. But hunger doesn’t stop, and area needs are escalating. They need our help now more than ever.
The 2014 EMPTY BOWL is scheduled for Ash Wednesday, March 5, 2014 (11 a.m. – 2 p.m.) at the Knights of Columbus Hall on Highway 157 in Collinsville. This year, the Collinsville Woman’s Club is partnering with the Junior Service Club to sponsor the event. We invite you to purchase a $10 ticket and join us for this lunch offering a smorgasbord of soups (meat and meatless). On stage, there will be a full program of entertainment (including some of our area’s finest). The Gateway Grizzlies’ characters will be there to meet and greet. Area artists are providing special pieces for a Silent Auction. Bags of homemade cookies will be available for purchase. The first 500 attendees will take home a special memento. All profits from this event will be donated to the Collinsville Food Pantry.

*Purchase tickets. For tickets, please contact Barb Kusmierczak at (618) 910-1646. Empty Bowl tickets will also be available for purchase at area businesses. Just look for the Empty Bowl signage with “Tickets Available Here.” (Carry-outs will be available and can be picked up at the K of C Hall side door.)
*Donate soup. For details to donate four gallons of soup, please contact Barbara Smock at (618) 344-1921. Soup donors will be recognized in the printed program and on event signage.
*Help us publicize. Please include information about The Empty Bowl in your newsletter, church bulletin, and marquee. For posters/flyers, please contact Barb Kusmierczak at (618) 910-1646. We want to inform the whole community about the event.
*Make a donation. Any contribution will be greatly appreciated. Checks should be made payable to the Collinsville Woman’s Club, P.O. Box 368, Collinsville, Illinois 62234.
