The Illinois Department of Natural Resources will hold a free, two-day, Illinois Hunter Safety Class March 12 and 15 in Caseyville.

Attendance  both days is required. The first class will be from 6-9 p.m. on March 12. The final class is from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, March 15. Both classes will be at the St. Stephen Annex at 901 S. Main St., Caseyville. The location was moved from the Moose Lodge.

Although registration will be accepted until 4:30 p.m. Wed. March 12, the class typically is full before registration ends. A wait list will be maintained. Anyone on the wait list can attend the first session in case a registered participant does not attend.

The Illinois Department of Natural Resources provides the class and manuals free.  Participants should bring a pencil and notepad.

Anyone under 12 will have to be accompanied by an adult in class. The recommended minimum age is 10.

Food will be available for purchase both days.
