Caseyville teens, Collinsville juvenile, accused of 24 burglaries around Columbia

Three Caseyville teenagers and a Collinsville juvenile are accused of 21 car burglaries and three residential burglaries around Columbia, Ill. since late December. All have been charged in Monroe County.

Tyler W. Ashcraft, 18, of the 200 block of Oliver Street, Caseyville, was charged with 21 counts of burglary from a motor vehicle and three counts of residential burglary. His bond is set at $50,000.

Kerry M. Gum, 19, of the 1000 block of Hollywood Heights Road, Caseyville, was charged with four counts of burglary from a motor vehicle and one count of residential burglary. His bond is set at $25,000.

Zachary S. Wood, 18, of the 200 block of Oliver Street, Caseyville, was charged with 15 counts of burglary from a motor vehicle and two counts of residential burglary. His bond is set at $25,000.

Another suspect is a juvenile from Collinsville, who is still being sought on 21 counts of burglary from a motor vehicle and three counts of residential burglary

The Columbia Police Department began investigating the burglaries on Dec. 26 and was assisted by the Caseyville, Collinsville and Edwardsville police departments.
