Collinsville Garden Club receives the Carl Schultze Improvement of the Month Award

Members of Collinsville Progress presented the Carl Schultze Improvement of the Month Award on Jan. 14 to the Collinsville Garden Club for its donation of a Blue Star Memorial Highway Marker to the city of Collinsville.

The award was presented to Alice Koritta, chair of the Collinsville Garden Club Blue Star Marker project, and Lavadna Hines, Garden club past president. The marker, which honors service men and women, was donated in celebration of the organization’s 50th anniversary and was unveiled during a dedication ceremony on Nov. 9. It is located in the green space next to Home Furniture on Illinois159.

Carl Schultze Improvement of the Month Award is presented to area businesses and organizations that make noteworthy changes or improvements that help create a better business environment for Collinsville and its residents.  This award is presented by Collinsville Progress, Inc. in honor of Carl Schultze, a charter member of Progress and lifetime area resident.
