In 2013 both the Collinsville Ministerial Alliance and Maryville Outreach Food Pantries received financial assistance and much needed food contributions. . Financial assistance was also provided to the Collinsville Meals on Wheels program and Minds Eye Information Service, which provides free readings of over 100 magazines, books, and retail ads each day to thousands of people throughout the St. Louis Metro area. Additionally, financial assistance for the victims of the tornado, wind and severe storm events that struck central and southern Illinois on November 17, 2013 was funneled through the Lions Illinois Foundation so that all areas of the state that were affected would receive assistance as quickly as possible. The Evening Lions seasonal giving concluded with financial assistance for several students in the Collinsville Unit 10 school district. These contributions supported the McKinney-Vento Homeless Children Assistance Act as well as other students identified by the staff for direct assistance.
