The Illinois Department of Transportation announced the 8 am. to 6 p.m. daily closures will begin Oct. 7 and are expected to continue for two weeks. The restrictions are in preparation for the replacement of a damaged bridge beam on the Meridian Road Bridge over Interstate 270.

All westbound lanes of Interstate 270 between Interstate 55/70 and Illinois Route 157 will be closed starting Oct. 12 at 5:30 a.m. for removal and replacement of a damaged bridge beam on the Meridian Road bridge. The lanes are expected to re-open by 9 p.m.
